I remember my first camera: a Kodak 110, in the second grade. My father and grandfather both encouraged me to take pictures, and in the sixth grade, Grandpa lent me a Minolta that I borrowed until the ninth grade! He finally officially gave it to me that year, and photography continued to follow me as I got older.

My senior year of high school I took a photography class, but when I went to college, I pursued a degree in biology. A few credits short of graduating, my friend Becca, who knew me well, asked me why I wasn't pursuing fine arts. I switched degree plans, and in 2000, I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Photography. I am doing what I love, and I have many to thank for their support and encouragement.

I have an extensive family and wonderful friends. You will see some of them in my Gallery. I understand the meaning of special relationships, and I strive to show that in all of my work. I welcome you to contact me if you are interested in setting up a session. I'll give you recommendations on clothing, settings, and more to make your portrait personalized and memorable.

Welcome to RYB Photography! As a friend and supporter of Becky and her beautiful work, I am responsible for the creation of this website and assisting Becky with photo shoots and promotion.

I used to think my interest in photography began in high school, when I acquired an old 35mm Olympus OM2 and an assortment of lenses. I worked at a photography studio and learned techniques from professionals, setting up my own funky, creative sessions and spending way too much money on developing! Now, I have embraced digital technology (with complete respect for the wonders of film), and developing has become a lot more manageable. I love setting up sessions with friends and musicians for promotional purposes, but I am open to all kinds of opportunities.

Going through old family photos, I've recently realized that my love of photography actually began as a child. I used to buy disposable cameras and snap photos of anything from family members to toys and dolls, and then I would draw pictures of my photos. Since then, I have cultivated my interests through classes on darkroom techniques, digital photography, visual arts and design, and through my own personal projects.

If you would like to know more about RYB Photography, contact Becky or email me (webmaster) at dreamsincolors@myway.com. We look forward to working with you!
